Arccos Receives ING Product Ingenuity Award

Arccos - the world's leading provider of automatic on-course data capture and advanced analytics for golfers - has received an ING Award for Product Ingenuity related to development of its new Arccos Caddie platform.

Presented during the 24th Annual ING Industry Honors awards program at the 2017 PGA Merchandise Show, the award celebrated the technical achievement that allowed Arccos to further extend its category leadership position.

Launched in November 2016, Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors features 14 ultralight sensors that are more than 50% smaller than the first-generation Arccos system. Each sensor attaches to a club grip and communicates with a free app for iOS and Android devices. The system records every shot a golfer takes and analyzes the data in real time to enhance on-course decision-making. Unlike competing products, it requires no tagging, tapping or other annoying disruptions to a player's routine.

"We constantly strive to develop products and solutions that leverage personalized data to help golfers of all skill levels play better and have more fun," says Sal Syed, Arccos CEO and Co-Founder. "Arccos users are improving at a rate of up to 20 times faster than the average player, and we're just scratching the surface of what's possible."

In addition to Arccos Caddie, recent company announcements include:

  • Microsoft - Has partnered with Arccos to develop technologies that use advanced analytics to deliver insights which help golfers of all skill levels play smarter to shoot lower scores. This is possible through the combination of Arccos' industry-leading performance tracking system and data set of 50 million golf shots, with the power of the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and Azure Machine Learning, part of Microsoft Cortana Intelligence. Arccos has also named Microsoft its Official Cloud Partner.
  • Arccos Course Analyzer - The first phase of the collaboration with Microsoft, the Arccos Course Analyzer is golf's first Artificial Intelligence product. The platform layers an Arccos user's data on top of millions of data points for more than 40,000 golf courses mapped in the Arccos system. It then harnesses Microsoft's Azure cloud-computing services and machine learning capabilities to provide personalized recommendations for optimal strategies on nearly every golf hole in the world. The platform is scheduled to launch in May 2017.
  • COBRA CONNECT Powered by Arccos - As of November 2016, every Cobra Golf driver features an Arccos sensor embedded in the grip. The COBRA CONNECT range allows players to automatically track their driving distance and accuracy stats, while also participate in the King of the Hole virtual long drive competition. Applicable models include the COBRA KING F7, KING F7+ and KING LTD Black models.
Conducted by the International Network of Golf, the ING Industry Honors recognize outstanding achievement in the golf business. Nominees in 11 categories are submitted throughout the year and sub-committees that include experts in each category trim the entries to the top three, with ING members then selecting the winner.
